Dice and dice games date back to the Crusades, but modern craps is just about one hundred years old. Current craps formed from the ancient Anglo game called Hazard. From Louisiana, the game extended to the Mississippi scows and across the country. A good many consider the dice builder John H. Winn as the father of modern craps. In 1907, Winn created the current craps setup. He added the Don’t Pass line so players can bet on the dice to not win.
